The barnowl and the polar bear


The barn owl and the polar bear
met beneath the moon
they shared a tender romance
and the sun came up too soon

Then they found to their dismay
they were not really suited
the polar bear could only grunt
and the barn owl only hooted


The polar bear preferred the cold
he loved the snow and ice
he liked to eat the Arctic seals
and hated rats and mice

The barn owl on the other hand
enjoyed a tasty mouse
and he liked to turn his lonely barn
into a nice warm house

So they decided, there and then
to end their strange affair
'cause though their love was mutual
an owl is different to a bear

So the polar bear and the barn owl
went their separate ways
and the polar bear suffered sleepless nights
and the barn owl sleepless days
