I've succeeded in making a mess
I once developed a burglar alarm
to protect things while I was out bowlin'
and it worked in a way cause when someone broke in
the alarm was the only thing stolen
I once made a clever little device
to measure the wind swirling round
but shortly after my gadget went up
the wind blew the stupid thing down
I made an invisible typewriter
people like spies wouldn't mind it
but then I put it down somewhere
and now of course I can't find it
Then I invented a fool-proof fire alarm
but a short in the technical wiring
caused a fire that burned the house down
it all gets a little bit tiring
