Drivel


I'm oh so glad the moon comes up
just as the sun goes down
'cause it would be so very dark
we wouldn't see a sound

I'm oh so glad the tide goes out
just after it comes in
'cause if it kept on coming
I'd have to learn to swim

I'm oh so glad the rain comes down
and always fills the river
'cause if the rain went up again
the grass would start to wither

I'm oh so glad the fridge is cold
and the microwave is hot
‘cause the microwave ain’t big enough
for all the ice cream that I’ve got

I'm oh so glad that people are
so very kind and civil
and that they let me get away
with writing all this drivel
