Heartbeat
I bought a little puppy
from the lady down the street
and she taught me how to look after him
and what to let him eat
She said if he gets nervous
and starts to miss his brother
wrap a clock up in his blanket
he'll think it's the heartbeat of his mother
Now this seemed like a good idea
and it would have worked I'm sure
but I forgot to turn the alarm off
and he shot out of the door
Eventually I got him back
but it really hurt his feelings
now every time the phone rings
I have to get him off the ceiling
