The pain of infidelity


Only you can do the things that you do
that make me want to be with you
but you have your life and I have mine
forever apart like a parallel line

I gave you my world and you gave me yours
we swam in the sea and made love on the shore
we cried in the rain and I gave you my heart
then reality came in and blew us apart

We’re worlds apart now we’ve grown that way
and acceptance has gradually stolen the day
In reality life isn’t peaches and cream
and love is just fantasy, merely a dream

The bonds we have we never can share
because mine are here and yours are there
and the ecstasy and elation of lovers
should never destroy the happiness of others
