We have to balance the budget
make some cuts before it’s too late
so this January there won’t be another new year
we’ll keep this one and just change the date
Citizens are asked in the future
not to get any new friends
re-cycle the old ones if need be
it’s on you that our economy depends
We must cut back on expenditure
before we fall into the red
so next month there won’t be another new moon
