The tall ship

For ninety days and ninety nights
the tall ship sailed the sea
and when at last they saw the land
the crew all danced with glee

Then the fog descended
cold and damp and wet
when darkness came it was Ben who asked
'shall I wake the captain yet?'

The captain flew into a rage
when he came to take a look
the predicament he blamed on Ben
and Ben was just the cook

Which way's the land?' the captain cried
'you'll have to climb the mast'
and for Ben who was afraid of heights
this was an awesome task

But up the rigging poor Ben went
knowing he'd been conned
and when he saw the land and came back down
he found the ship was gone
