to find that his cat had eaten his mouse
the next day he noticed his dog had got fat
and soon realized it had eaten his cat
that very same night outside in the fog
a lion had come in and eaten his dog
Tommy Jones had suffered acute indigestion
and died after eating the lion in question

and the lion hadn't eaten his dog you could say
Tommy Jones might still be with us today
