What to wear
Calves and cows and horses wear leather
it's hard-wearing and suitable in all kinds of weather
warm and fashionable and cheap on the sales
the horse is more sensible than the fish who wears scales
Scales don't keep you warm but for fish that's OK
they don't mind being cold and wet night and day
whales don't like scales they have a wet suit of rubber
with an insulated filling of blubber
Birds wear feathers to keep themselves warm
and they also keep them dry in the storm
some birds wear a colourful crown
and eider ducks wear nice fluffy down
Most other animals wear natural fur
but when people wear it, it causes a stir
we have to rely on cotton and such
as our skin is too thin to do very much
